MEET BRUCE
On November 1, 2021, Bruce Dodds retired after a 42-year career in the Oil & Gas Industry. Most recently, Bruce held the position of Manager of Capital Projects at the CHS Inc. Laurel Refinery. During his 5-year tenure, a Gated Capital Process was developed and implemented, applying proper controls to ensure consistent Capital Project results. Capital Project execution was managed using the five pillars established for the Capital group – Safety, Cost, Schedule, Quality, and Risk Management.

Coming Soon: Planning for Success
My purpose for writing a book on Project Execution was two-fold. First, provide a tool for engineers in the Oil and Gas Industry to better prepare them to manage the challenges of Project Execution; and second, a personal goal was to develop concise Project Management guidelines, which can be used to execute projects with excellence. It is this goal, which led to the development of this book for use by others who follow me in the Industry.
EXPERIENCE
It is always better to proceed on the basis of a recognition of what is, rather than what ought to be.
