MEET BRUCE

On November 1, 2021, Bruce Dodds retired after a 42-year career in the Oil & Gas Industry. Most recently, Bruce held the position of Manager of Capital Projects at the CHS Inc. Laurel Refinery. During his 5-year tenure, a Gated Capital Process was developed and implemented, applying proper controls to ensure consistent Capital Project results. Capital Project execution was managed using the five pillars established for the Capital group – Safety, Cost, Schedule, Quality, and Risk Management.  

Bruce’s previously held the position of Director of Projects for Richard Design Services, located in Houston, Texas. His career includes successful management experience as part of the Engineering and Construction Contractor teams. Engineering and Construction experience included management of EPC/Turnkey Business Units with responsibility for the profit and loss statement.

Refinery experience includes corporate capital management responsibility, capital project budget development and execution, and construction management. As an Owner employee, Bruce held positions of Corporate Manager of Capital Projects, performing long-term strategic planning for capital projects; Manager of Capital Projects, coordinating all phases of engineering, design, procurement, and field construction; and Task Force Leader working in concert with outside engineering companies, positioning the refinery's bottom of the barrel conversion projects.

A summary of projects executed is available upon request. Bruce holds a B. S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
