THE QUALITY GOES IN BEFORE THE NAME GOES ON...

The projects focus on quality will facilitate capital project success.  A TV manufacturer’s slogan was, “The Quality Goes in Before the Name Goes On.”  Imagine that, a company in the 1960’s that was focusing on quality.  They were ahead of the industry times. 

MY PART IN SUPPORT OF THE QUALITY PLAN

As Project Manager, your role is to ensure the Plan is developed, ensure the Plan is approved by your management, ensure your project team egts the proper training, and ensure training is completed with all Subcontractors.  A tall order for any Project Manager.

Does your current Project Execution Plan include a comprehensive Project Quality Plan?  Has your management reviewed and approved the PQP you intend to use during project execution?  Does your project team include an assigned Quality Manager (either full or part-time)?  What is your company reporting structure for the Quality Manager?

THE CURRENT PLAN

Most companies speak of a Quality Plan and their efforts to implement for all construction sites.  The challenge is finalizing and implementing a Project Quality Plan.  This requires a commitment from management and the site Capital Project Team members.
